Trending Consumerism covers consumer goods and the people who buy them: food and beverage, health and wellness, beauty and personal care, home and lifestyle, and the trends moving those categories. This page explains how we report, who is responsible, and where the line sits between editorial and paid content.

Who is responsible

Editor and Publisher Rob P. is accountable for every story on this site. Most editorial stories carry the house byline Jane Satchel, the name our editorial desk publishes under. Our staff, owners and contact details are on the Masthead & Ownership page.

How we report

  • Sources first. We build stories from primary sources wherever we can: company announcements, government agencies such as the FDA, FTC, CPSC and USDA, published research, official event pages and established news outlets.
  • Every fact is linked. Numbers, dates, prices, recalls and quotes link to the source they came from. If we can’t verify a fact, we leave it out.
  • We say what we did and didn’t do. Unless a story says we tested a product ourselves, our buying guides compare published specifications, ingredient lists, prices and independent review data. We don’t invent people, quotes, studies or test results.
  • Dates are visible. Every story shows when it was published, and when it was last updated.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. They don’t replace the rules above: every article is checked against the sources it links before it is published, and a person is responsible for it. We don’t publish AI-generated images presented as real photographs. Photos carry a credit and license line.

Independence

  • Brands can’t pay for editorial coverage, buy a review, or pay to change one.
  • Paid press releases appear only in our Press Room, are labeled as press releases, and are kept separate from editorial stories.
  • Trending Consumerism is owned by Mission Driven Brand, a marketing agency. If an editorial story covers a company that is a Mission Driven Brand client, the story says so.
  • If a story contains affiliate links, it says so near the top. See our Disclosure & Sponsored Content policy.

Health, safety and money

Stories about supplements, skincare, food safety or spending are general information, not medical, legal or financial advice. Talk to a licensed professional about your own situation.
