We work to get every fact right. When we don’t, we correct it openly.
How to report an error
Email contact@trendingconsumerism.com with the subject line “Correction”. Include the link to the story, what you believe is wrong, and a source that shows the correct information if you have one. We review every request.
How we correct
- Factual errors (a wrong number, date, price, name or claim): we fix the text and add a dated note at the end of the story that says what was changed.
- Significant errors that change the meaning of a story: we fix the story, add a correction note at the top, and update the headline if needed.
- Spelling, grammar and broken links: we fix these without a note.
- Updates: when a story changes because of new information (for example, a recall expands), we add an “Updated” note with the date.
We don’t remove stories to hide mistakes. If a story can’t be fixed, we say why on the page.
