The two will take to the ocean off Beach Haven before appearing on stage together Saturday at the Long Beach Island Historical Museum.

BEACH HAVEN, N.J., September 17, 2026 — Big-wave surfing pioneer Laird Hamilton will surf with and speak alongside blind New Jersey entrepreneur Sean Callagy at an exclusive event on Long Beach Island on Saturday, Sept. 19, beginning at 7 a.m. at the Long Beach Island Historical Museum in Beach Haven.

Hamilton will take Callagy into the ocean off Beach Haven before the two join one another on stage at the museum, known locally as the Old Museum. Callagy — an attorney, father and co-founder of ACTi AI  who has built his life and career while navigating blindness — will take on the water alongside one of the most influential figures in the sport.

Callagy is also co-founder of ACTi, an AI company whose specialized AI Beings, including 24/7 strategic partner Athena, help professionals navigate decisions, communication, business challenges and actionable next steps while keeping human judgment at the center.

The morning is designed to spotlight resilience, trust and human performance. Highlights include:

  • Hamilton and Callagy surfing together in the waters off Long Beach Island
  • An on-stage conversation at the Long Beach Island Historical Museum, 129 Engleside Ave., Beach Haven
  • Interview opportunities with both Hamilton and Callagy before and after the event

Hamilton is widely regarded as one of the most influential innovators in surfing, credited with helping pioneer tow-in surfing, stand-up paddleboarding and hydrofoil boarding. The event continues Callagy’s work through his Unblinded platform, which explores human potential and challenges conventional ideas about what is possible in business and in life.

Members of the media interested in attending, or in interviews with Hamilton and Callagy, can contact Publicity For Good for full event details.
